Does the ship require a connection to Earth (Internet)?
No. Deep space has no Wi-Fi. Everything you need to navigate the ship is included in the game.

How many players does the game support?
The Alien Ship supports 1 to 4 players. It plays brilliantly as a solo mission, though our personal sweet spot is a 2-player co-op. Many of our playtesters also loved bringing a full crew to tackle the ship’s puzzles together.

How long does a typical play through take?
A complete play through of Escape Comics: The Alien Ship typically takes between 4 and 8 hours.
Your actual playtime will depend on your experience level and how you choose to play:
Seasoned puzzle game players and reviewers generally finish the adventure in roughly 4 hours.
True escape room artists who prefer to solve everything without using any hints often enjoy stretching the experience over numerous sessions, which pushes the playtime closer to the 8-hour mark.
If you prefer not to play it all in one sitting, the game is designed with natural save points, making it easy to pause your game and pick it up again later.

Is the game replayable, or is it a one-time experience?
Your mission will never require you to destroy, cut, or alter any of the ship’s components. While the mystery is likely a one-time journey for you, the entire game is designed to be fully reset. Once you have escaped, you can pack it back up and pass the experience on to a new crew.

When is the estimated delivery date?
Our estimated arrival is November 2026, though we consider that a conservative flight path. Jumping High Five has published over 20 board game titles, so this is not our first mission. With ten years of experience navigating manufacturing and logistics, we are ready to produce and deliver the game as quickly as possible after the campaign ends. While we are allowing extra time for this launch, our production process typically takes 3 to 4 months.

Will the game be available in languages other than English?
For this launch, the game will only be available in English and one alien language. We spent eight years developing this mission to create the best experience possible. Because the puzzles require intricate text alignment, translating them introduces complex challenges. We want to be absolutely certain the mechanics work flawlessly before offering the game in other languages.

Will the game be sold in retail stores after the campaign?
We do offer a retailer option during this campaign, but widespread retail distribution is highly unlikely. We took this mission to Toy Fair to pitch the biggest publishers in the industry. While we have immense respect for these major companies, they told us our design was simply too ambitious. They strongly advised us to cut costs, warning that the lifesize components and the integrated comic book would not fit standard retail profit margins. We listened to their expertise, but we absolutely refused to compromise our vision. We set out to push the boundaries of tabletop gaming and build the ultimate, immersive escape room we have always wanted to play. Because we chose to protect the quality of the experience over mass-market margins, backing this campaign is the primary way to get the game.

Will there be a pledge manager after the campaign ends?
Yes. Once the initial launch window closes, we will activate a pledge manager so you can finalize your mission details and coordinate shipping for your crew.

Did you use artificial intelligence to build your game?
No artificial intelligence was used in the construction of this vessel. If you check our crew manifest, you will find that our team wrote the entire story and hand-penciled and illustrated the comic book and every single component. We are completely committed to supporting human creatives to bring this mission to life.

What is BackerKit?
BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
